The German Wargaming Center, anchored at the Chair of Political Theory at the Helmut Schmidt University / University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg, promotes strategic awareness among civilian and military decision-makers across departments and throughout society, in and for Germany.
Its goal is to establish wargaming a central training, simulation, and research tool for the strategic decision-making level.
As a response to an an increasingly complex international environment, the Center pursues an innovative, networked, and society-wide approach. Combining insights from political science, psychology, and strategic studies, the Center serves as a global wargaming hub, bridging the worlds of scientific excellence and practitioner expertise.
It work develops emergent strategies, contributing to strengthening strategic capacity for action, reflecting on decision-making logics, and better understanding complex patterns of interaction under uncertainty.
