Alexander Szanto

Fellow

Alexander Szanto has been a Senior Research Fellow at the Brandenburg Institute for Society and Security (BIGS) since June 2025. His work focuses on issues at the intersection of security policy, technological transformation, and societal resilience, particularly in the areas of cybersecurity, disinformation, and digital infrastructures.

From March 2023 to May 2025, he served as Director at Christ & Company Consulting, where he led the Digital Economy division. In this role, he advised companies and institutions on strategic and technology policy issues in the fields of cybersecurity, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.

From 2017 to 2023, he worked as a Research Fellow at BIGS, contributing to national and European projects addressing societal, security, and economic aspects of cybersecurity and disinformation.

Prior to this, he gained professional experience in the private sector in Germany and abroad, as well as in state-level politics in North Rhine-Westphalia.
