Jonas Thiessen is a Wargame Designer at the Center of Excellence of the BWI, the primary digitalization partner of the German Armed Forces. Here, he develops everything from tactical to strategic wargames for the German military. While he also works on analog games, the marriage of wargames with digital technologies represents the strategic focus of his work.
During his last position as COO of an IT consulting firm, he simultaneously founded his second IT company, which multiplied the impact of Corporate SocialResponsibility strategies through digitalization and gamification. Jonas Thiessen holds a master’s degree from the Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg and has volunteered for the Heidelberg Institute for International Conflict Research (HIIK).
Wargaming has become the central pillar of his work because no other methodology overcomes differences as efficiently to forge multidisciplinary teams of professionals, amplifying their creative energy to collectively take on some of the most complex challenges of our time.
