Dr. Philip Jan Sch\u00e4fer is the Co-Director of the German Wargaming Center. He is a senior research fellow for the Chair of Political Theory at the Helmut-Schmidt University \/ University of the German Federal Armed Forces Hamburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He previously held the role of lecturer for special tasks in the Department of Politics and Society at Bielefeld University. Prior to this, he served as a scientific advisor at the Bundeswehr Centre for Information Work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He completed his diploma in political science at the Free University of Berlin and went on to earn his doctorate at the University of Cologne with an outstanding thesis on the effects of environmental change on security policy in the Arab MENA states. During his doctoral studies, Sch\u00e4fer began working in communications and headed the state campaign for sustainable mobility for the Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg Ministry of Transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his subsequent role as Assistant Professor in the Global Studies Department at Korea University in Sejong, Sch\u00e4fer taught and conducted research on mobility issues and systems theory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is MORS certified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
